Welcome to Inhale Floral Designs – Where Passion, Expertise, and Family Blossom!
Hello and welcome! Olivia and I are a mother/daughter team, and we are so happy you're here. We can't wait to meet you and bring your floral dreams to life!
I'm Haley, a florist with over 15 years of experience, and I couldn't be more excited to share our story with you. My love for floristry is deeply rooted in my family's history, and it's been an incredible journey to get to where we are today.
Floristry isn't just a profession in our family—it's now become a legacy. My grandma, Julia, was a florist for over 25 years in Terrace, BC, and even in her eighties, she still designs for her church regularly. My mother, Jackie-Marie, is a skilled florist in the Kootenays, and both she and my dad have been by my side, helping me set up large events over the years. Then there's Olivia, my youngest, now grown daughter, who has been raised in this industry, growing flowers and working with me since she could walk.
With our family's combined 75 years of floristry experience (I can't believe that—75!), we are passionate about what we do and confident in our experience.
My favourite design style is all about embracing the gardenesque aesthetic—lush greenery, deep colour and lots of texture and interest. Luxurious, balanced and timeless. Orchids will always stop me in my tracks, but heavenly scented garden roses and peonies will always have my heart.
From Humble Beginnings to Big Dreams
My own journey into floristry began in my little flower garden, raising three little toddlers. Wanting to help contribute to the family financially, while I was staying at home with our children, led me to start selling single stems and small bouquets in a tiny flower stand by our road in 2003. Little did I know how it, and I, would grow.
What started as the simplest of offerings grew and within a few short years, we were working with one of the largest Destination Event Service companies in Vancouver, executing multi-day, multi-million-dollar events, with celebrity performances, for thousands of international guests. Saying that, I still can’t believe how life has rewarded our efforts and what we’ve been able to be a part of!
As I sit down to write this, I’m filled with gratitude. It’s not just about the milestones, but about the support of my family—my grandmother, mother, father, husband, and my children, Selah, Olivia and Lyje. Their wholehearted involvement and encouragement has made this journey so, so sweet.
A New Chapter in Central Alberta
Fast forward, it’s fall of 2024, and we’re back in Red Deer, where I grew up. After a work opportunity brought my husband here, I found myself returning to my roots. Our family’s history is deeply tied to this area, where my parents pastored a church when I was little, but I was wondering, what does this mean for Inhale in this new chapter?
It didn't' take long though, until I realized that there was a cool opportunity here to fill a unique gap in the community. After connecting with some fabulous event vendors here in Central Alberta, we learned that there was a large and growing demand for floral rentals, yet not enough options were available. We knew right away that this was a great niche, so, we jumped in wholeheartedly and have invested in filling this gap. We’re bringing our skills, expertise, and creativity into new territory and offering high-quality faux flower rentals for weddings, showers, corporate events, and everything in between. It’s a huge pivot, but one we’re absolutely excited about!
Sustainability Meets Beauty
One of the reasons we’re inspired by this new business direction is because it allows us to leave an imprint on people's hearts, but less of one on our beautiful home. Over the years, we’ve witnessed the amount of waste generated after every event, and as a family, we’ve worked hard to adopt more sustainable practices. Did you know that the average wedding generates between 400 and 600 pounds of waste? We are motivated to reduce that!
That’s why we’re encouraging a new circular economy concept—renting floral pieces that are just as beautiful as fresh, but can be reused for hundreds of events, thereby reducing those being thrown out after just one.
The Quest for Perfect Faux Flowers
Another reason we’re so excited about this pivot is the incredible advancements in faux floral design over the past few years. We’ve spent countless hours sourcing the most realistic flowers that look just like the varieties we know and love—those luscious garden roses, peonies, and hydrangeas. From finding the right manufacturers to perfecting the arrangements, we’re confident that we’re going to offer the highest quality faux flower arrangements you can dream of.
The flowers are on their way, and we can’t wait to get our hands on them. In the meantime, we’re building structures, designing our collections, and preparing to launch in 2025. We’re currently taking bookings for 2025 and 2026, and we only have one set of each collection available, so if you’re interested, we recommend booking early!
A Family Affair
Inhale Floral Designs truly is a family business. From grandma Julia, to my new granddaughter Adaline, the fifth generation, who by the way is already showing an interest in flowers (mind you, she's eating them, but still). My husband, Dean, is the "Builder of All Things & Lifter of All Heavy Things" is our rock and helps us with every physical task behind the scenes. And of course, Liv, my talented daughter and my partner in this adventure, is working alongside me every step of the way. She’s just returned from volunteering abroad and is ready to dive into our floral rental business. We are all so excited for this next chapter!
